The March 22, 2012, Law360 article “Movie Investor Ducks $190M Suit Claiming He Ripped Aramid,” noted that a New York and Century City team of O’Melveny lawyers recently won full dismissal of an US$80 million suit against its clients Wimbledon Financing Master Fund, WFM Holdings, Stillwater Capital Partners, Stillwater Market Neutral Fund III SPC, and Gerova Financial Group in New York Supreme Court in Aramid Entertainment Fund Ltd., et al. v. Wimbledon Financing Master Fund Ltd., et al. The plaintiffs alleged tortious interference with prospective economic advantage, prima facie tort and willful misconduct stemming from their failed attempt to sell Aramid’s portfolio of entertainment assets to a third party. The O’Melveny team was led by Century City partners Dan Petrocelli and James “Bo” Pearl and New York associate Brad Elias. All are members of the Firm’s Business Trial & Litigation Practice.
