Law360: O’Melveny Nabs Ex-Skadden Securities Litigation Pro

August 19, 2020

Amy Park has joined O’Melveny as a partner in the firm’s securities litigation practice in the Silicon Valley office. She is a seasoned securities litigator with nearly two decades of expertise in complex business litigation, shareholder suits, internal investigations, and mergers and acquisitions litigation, Law360 reported.

Law wasn’t the first career Park considered; as she told the publication, she initially expected to follow her interests in journalism, mathematics, or physics. “I realized my talents and interests coalesced in law,” Park said. “I love to write, I love to tell stories, I love to make persuasive pitches and statements and I love to strategize. Being a lawyer allows me to do all of those things.”

Park has largely served the technology, pharmaceutical, and health care sectors, and has been recognized for her extensive experience in securities, business, and financial disputes, the publication noted. Her clients have included WageWorks Inc., current and former directors of PG&E, DeVry University, TiVo Inc., and SanDisk Corp.

“Technology companies of all stages, as well as venture capital, growth, and private equity funds, are increasingly involved in litigation to further their market objectives and maintain their competitive advantages,” said Paul Sieben, managing partner of O’Melveny’s Silicon Valley office. “For corporate leaders and boards seeking advice on fiduciary duty and shareholder issues, Amy will be extremely valuable.”

Park told the publication that along with the firm’s litigation and transactional strengths, O'Melveny’s commitment to diversity resonated with her, as a longtime advocate herself. “I think it’s critical to mentor, teach, help advance and empower women in the legal profession,” Park said.
