Law360: Publishing Merger Won’t Hurt Competition, Yale Prof Says

Edward A. Snyder, a professor at the Yale School of Management, testified as an economics expert in a trial where the Justice Department is challenging a proposed US$2.18 billion merger between Penguin Random House and Simon & Schuster. Snyder said that the second score auction model used by the DOJ to measure harm the deal could cause “has no value in terms of the fundamental economic analysis.” Penguin Random House is represented by Daniel M.
