Law360: ‘Shape Of Water’ Copyright Fight Ends In Settlement

A settlement has been reached between the producers of Oscar-winning best picture “The Shape of Water” and the estate of playwright Paul Zindel over allegations that the film infringed the copyright of Zindel’s play “Let Me Hear Your Whisper,” this article reported. After an initial dismissal, the Ninth Circuit appellate court ordered the lawsuit back to district court, where it believed more “literary analysis” on the works’ similarities should have been introduced.
