The increased adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) in the legal industry worries many potential users. However, as the market has matured, many people are beginning to appreciate how the potential advantages could outweigh the risks.

The next step for legal AI relies on attorneys embracing the technology. O’Melveny’s Director of Information Services Cheryl Smith recently spoke on a panel at ALM’s Legalweek about AI incorporation in attorney’ practice: “Basically we are taking the approach when we promote products that the idea is not to promote the product, but what is going to make their lives more easier, make them more efficient, help them support their clients more effectively.”
