Legal Bisnow DC Highlights Dellinger's Presentation To Local School Children on Importance of Free Speech

September 30, 2011 O’Melveny & Myers Appellate partner Walter Dellinger was featured in the September 29, 2011, Legal Bisnow DC article “SC Gets Schooled.” In celebration of Constitution Day this month, the article reports that Dellinger visited fourth graders at Ross Elementary School in Dupont Circle to speak with them “about their own rights to free speech, explaining that he was a clerk for then-Supreme Court Justice Hugo Black when Tinker v. Des Moines Independent Community School District was heard by the court.”

Legal Bisnow DC notes that “Dellinger visited the school as part of the American Constitution Society’s Constitution in the Classroom program, which sends lawyers and law students to public schools around the country to teach students about the founding document’s fundamental principles.”

Dellinger resides in the Firm’s Washington, DC office.
