Legal Times: O’Melveny’s Pro Bono Work Honored by DC JudgesApril 23, 2014 The Blog of Legal Times’ April 23, 2014, post “DC Federal Judges Honor Law Firm Pro Bono Service” details the 11th annual "40 at 50" Judicial Pro Bono Recognition Breakfast, which honors law firms where at least 40% of all lawyers performed at least 50 hours of pro bono service in 2013. O’Melveny & Myers was highlighted among a select group of firms that surpassed the 40% goal, with at least half of the firm’s lawyers contributing 50 hours or more of pro bono work last year.
At the event, US District Judge Emmet Sullivan spoke to the honorees about the importance of ensuring that litigants are on "equal footing" with their opponents in court. "It's a constant struggle," he said. "That's why we're here today, to thank you for your efforts."
