January 09, 2018

O’Melveny partner Heather Meeker was featured in the January 9, 2018, episode of “Unprecedented,” a biweekly podcast hosted by Law.com reporter Ben Hancock about technology, the law, and the future of litigation.

In the podcast, Meeker discusses license enforcement by major tech companies, security and open source, and the challenges open source projects face in dealing with sexual harassment amid the #MeToo movement.

“I think this is an issue that’s the next shoe to drop in open source,” Meeker tells Hancock in the episode. “People who are managing open source projects now need to be sensitized about these issues.”

Based in Silicon Valley, Meeker advises technology clients on intellectual property matters. Her practice focuses on counseling in technology transactions including licenses and agreements, open source software licensing, technology and IP issues in mergers and acquisitions, and copyright, patent, trademark, trade secret, and other IP matters.
