Miller, Cohen Co-Author NYLJ Article on Legalizing Surrogacy in New York

March 18, 2016 O'Melveny partner Pamela Miller and counsel Valerie Cohen co-authored the New York Law Journal article, "Changing Tides: Legalizing Surrogacy in New York." The authors discuss the Child-Parent Security Act (CPSA), now under consideration in New York, which would replace New York's ban on compensated surrogacy with a regulatory regime more detailed than those of the great majority of states. The act “would also augment the process for establishing parental rights in New York, especially when assisted reproductive technology is involved,” the authors conclude.

Miller is a member of the Securities Litigation and Financial Services practices and Cohen is a member of the Securities Litigation and Labor and Employment practices at O’Melveny. Associate Tim Grinsell also contributed to the article. They all are based in the firm’s New York office.
