O’Melveny counsel Jason Zarrow is among those representing four mothers in Mississippi in their lawsuit against the state’s public school system, this article reported. The lawsuit claims the state broke its promise to provide “a uniform system of free public schools,” alleging African American students do not receive the same education as white students, The Clarion-Ledger noted. After a decision by the 5th U.S. Court of Appeals, it is possible Mississippi may stand trial before U.S. District Judge William H. Barbour Jr. in Jackson.
