“My partners and I are thrilled to join the O’Melveny family,” Smith told AmLaw. “We look forward to the additional scope of services and resources we will be able to offer on behalf of our clients and further accelerate the growth of our practice.”

Smith, Graffum, and Schwarz-Gondek are “very highly regarded lawyers in the Southern California private equity market,” O’Melveny firm chair Bradley Butwin told the Daily Journal. “Their arrival strengthens our growing corporate practice.”

Smith advises public and private companies and institutional investors on a wide range of business transactions, including mergers, stock and asset acquisitions, tenders offers, going-private transactions, minority investments, leveraged buyouts, joint ventures, related financings, and venture capital investments. Graffum advises companies and investors in various corporate and investment transactions, with a particular focus on representing private equity sponsors, family offices and other institutional investors in mergers and acquisitions, investments, and financing transactions. Schwarz-Gondek specializes in private equity and mergers and acquisitions. He regularly represents private equity sponsors and other institutional investors in connection with mergers, stock and asset acquisitions and divestitures, and leveraged and management buyouts involving public and private companies.
