Multiple Outlets Note O’Melveny’s Role in Vance Street Capital’s RST DealSeptember 12, 2017
Multiple outlets, including the Daily Journal, reported September 12, 2017, that O’Melveny represented LA-based private equity firm Vance Street Capital in its acquisition of a stake in RST Instruments Ltd. As the Daily Journal noted, Los Angeles partners John Laco and Thomas Baxter led the O’Melveny team, along with counsel Sarah Hoffner and Reid Jason, and associates Niousha Rahbar and Joshua Chow. Partners Luc Moritz, based in Los Angeles, and Robert Fisher, based in Silicon Valley, also worked on the deal.
Laco is a seasoned corporate lawyer with nearly 25 years of experience advising public and private companies and financial investors. Baxter represents banks, insurance companies, financial institutions, institutional investors and companies in financing transactions. Moritz focuses on tax issues arising in international transactions, both inbound and outbound, on matters ranging from financings to joint ventures and mergers and acquisitions. Fisher focuses his practice on the tax aspects of corporate transactions.
