Eric Richards, partner and co-chair of O’Melveny's project finance group, was named a “2018 Project Finance MVP” by Law360. In his profile, Richards discusses his biggest accomplishment and challenge of 2018, his proudest career moment, and advice for junior attorneys.

Richards singled out his work on Los Angeles International Airport’s massive redevelopment project. “We’ve done three projects to support their redevelopment efforts over the last year,” Richards explained. “It’s gratifying to see and be connected to those efforts.”

Project finance is a particularly rewarding area of law, according to Richards. “It’s nice to have a role in bringing people together to do something and watching it happen—environmental law, real estate, construction, even dispute resolution—it’s just a wonderfully broad space to be involved in as a lawyer.”
