National Law Journal Touts O’Melveny’s Role in US Supreme Court Case

March 20, 2017

The March 20, 2017, edition of The National Law Journal’s “Docket Chat” highlighted O’Melveny’s role in consolidated cases headed to the US Supreme Court later this month.

The NLJ noted that O’Melveny has been working for years with the Mid-Atlantic Innocence Project to vacate the convictions of the defendants in Turner v. United States and Overton v. United States, with O’Melveny counsel Deanna Rice set to represent defendant Russell Overton.

“Jonathan Hacker, chair of O’Melveny’s Supreme Court and Appellate Practice, said Rice is ‘a great appellate lawyer’ who has handled Overton’s case for several years and is ready to argue at the high court,” the publication reported.

Based in Washington, DC, Rice is an experienced litigator who has participated in numerous matters before the US Supreme Court, federal and state courts of appeals, and trial courts.
