The National Law Journal: Wilmer Partner Alejandro Mayorkas Picked for Homeland Security Secretary

President-elect Joe Biden named O’Melveny alumnus Alejandro Mayorkas as his nominee for Secretary of Homeland Security. If confirmed, he would become the first Latino to lead the Department of Homeland Security, the publication noted.

In 2008, The National Law Journal named Mayorkas, then a partner at O’Melveny in Los Angeles, one of the most influential minority lawyers in the country.
