October 21, 2020

The New York Law Journal has named O’Melveny partner Leah Godesky a “Rising Star” for her work as a trial lawyer representing clients across a variety of industries, including insurance, entertainment, securities, and pharmaceuticals. This annual award recognizes the region’s most promising lawyers 40 and younger.

The publication noted that Godesky is active in a broad range of litigation, from federal and state-court proceedings to arbitrations and regulatory investigations, and has regularly achieved favorable outcomes in difficult and fast-paced situations. She has also served as co-counsel alongside the ACLU’s Reproductive Freedom Project as part of her active pro bono practice.

As co-chair of O’Melveny’s New York Women’s Employee Network, an office-wide committee focused on creating opportunities for women to motivate one another and advance their careers, Godesky remains dedicated to helping mentor young female lawyers, New York Law Journal reported. “Roll up your sleeves, dive in, and master something—whether it’s a factual record or a legal issue, you’ll soon find that you’re indispensable to the team and your client,” Godesky said of the advice she would give to young lawyers.
