In a unanimous decision, the National Hockey League approved an application to host the league’s 32nd franchise in Seattle, Washington. Movie producer Jerry Bruckheimer, represented by O’Melveny, is leading the team’s ownership group.
The move will bring major-league hockey to the city for the first time in nearly a century. The team, which has yet to be given a name, is slated to begin playing in 2021.
