O’Melveny Lawyers Author Law360 Piece on Junction of Trade Secret Law and Noncompetes

August 17, 2016

O'Melveny partner David Almeling and counsel Tony Beasley co-authored the August 17, 2016, Law360 article “The Shifting Junction of Trade Secret Law and Noncompetes.”

In the article, the authors shine a light on “the shifting intersection between trade secret law and noncompetes, focusing on the increased scrutiny on noncompetes. It shows that direct protection for trade secrets is waxing, while indirect protection in the form of noncompetes may be waning.”

The authors recommend that practitioners “stay abreast of the evolving intersection between the two regimes.”

Almeling is based in O’Melveny’s San Francisco office and focuses his practice on both patent and trade secret litigation. Beasley resides in the firm’s Los Angeles office and focuses on intellectual property litigation.
