The National Law Journal: O’Melveny Snags Michael Dreeben, Former Longtime Deputy Solicitor GeneralDecember 03, 2019
The National Law Journal reported that Michael Dreeben, longtime deputy US solicitor general, will be joining O’Melveny as a partner in the firm’s appellate and white collar practices.
“The longtime deputy U.S. solicitor general, widely viewed as an unrivaled expert on criminal law, retired in July after a two-year detour assisting special counsel Robert Mueller in the investigation into Russia’s election interference,” the publication wrote.
Dreeben was a part of the Mueller team investigating Russian interference in the 2016 election, and he told the NLJ that experience was one of the reasons he decided to join O’Melveny. “I enjoyed the collegial experience of the special counsel’s office, and I wanted to work in a culture like that,” Dreeben said in the article. “I also look forward to working with younger lawyers to help them develop in their careers as appellate advocates.”
