O’Melveny’s Bartie Quoted on Legal Landscape of Bourgeoning eSports Industry

April 14, 2017

O’Melveny partner Jared Bartie was quoted in the April 14, 2017, Daily Journal article “Making a Name in eSports Law.” The article reports that law firms are turning their attention “to the increasingly lucrative world of eSports,” while “some feel the true potential for legal services in the soon-to-be billion-dollar industry remains untapped.”

Bartie told the publication that the industry has been “largely fragmented from a legal perspective,” and right now attorneys have the opportunity to make a name for themselves in the eSports industry.

Based in O’Melveny’s New York office, Bartie has more than two decades of sports and media experience, as both an attorney and business executive. He regularly counsels sports clients on a variety of high-profile matters, including team investments, prominent naming rights and sponsorship transactions, and media rights agreements.
