March 27, 2012

The March 26, 2012, edition of Law360 profiled O’Melveny & Myers LLP partner Nancy Bruington as a “Rising Star” in media and entertainment law.

Bruington is a member of O’Melveny’s Entertainment, Sports and Media Practice and resides in the Firm’s Century City office. She focuses on entertainment and media finance, representing studios, production companies, equity sponsors, mezzanine investors and banking clients in film slate financings, corporate finance transactions, and the formation and capitalization of entertainment companies.

Law360 noted that Bruington’s impressive record of helping Hollywood studios secure financing and negotiating complex deals earned her a place among its rising media and entertainment law stars. Soon after joining O'Melveny in 2006, Bruington distinguished herself through her work with The Weinstein Co. to establish its US$285 million Asian film fund and on MGM's joint venture with Tom Cruise to form the new United Artists, according to the article. Bruington’s recent deals include advising MGM in its agreement with Warner Bros. Inc. and New Line Cinema to secure the production financing for "The Hobbit," and the refinancing of Alcon Entertainment LLC's existing credit facilities with a new US$200 million senior secured revolving credit facility.
