O’Melveny’s Burton Quoted in Law360 on Firm’s Summer Associate Program

August 01, 2015 O’Melveny & Myers firmwide hiring partner Allen Burton was quoted in the July 24, 2015, Law360 article, “Five Things Firms Stand To Lose By Axing Summer Associates.”  In the article, lawyers weigh in on the benefits of summer associate programs to their firms and new lawyers.

Burton told Law360 that effective use of the temporary associates is vital to reassuring clients who might be hesitant to pay for inexperienced legal professionals.  "It underscores why it's important for summer associates to be doing substantive, real work and not make-work," Burton told the publication.  "That discussion with clients becomes much easier when the summer associate is adding value to a particular project, and that's very much the approach that we take," he said.

Burton is a member of O’Melveny’s Securities Litigation Practice and resides in the Firm’s New York office.
