April 16, 2013

O’Melveny & Myers LLP partner Nathan Bush is quoted in a April 12, 2013, article published by The Deal entitled, “China's Mofcom Considers Reform to Lighten Load.” The article discusses the Mofcom merger approval process and possible reasons for recent delays in the process. Bush, a partner in O’Melveny’s Singapore office and member of the firm’s Antitrust and Competition Practice, notes in the article that the staff of Mofcom's Anti-Monopoly Bureau, “…numbers in the few dozen, of which about a dozen are charged with handling substantive cases. Combine that with a workload that has swollen hugely over the past few years and it is little wonder that the process can be slow."
