O’Melveny’s Cheng Featured in CCTV Segment on China-US Anti-Corruption Crackdown

October 01, 2015 O'Melveny & Myers partner Ronald Cheng was interviewed for the September 20, 2015, CCTV America segment, "China and US Work Closer To Crack Down on Corruption."  The report details the United States’ apprehension and extradition of a Chinese national fleeing corruption charges, sparking predictions that other suspects may face the same fate.  “In the US system, if one is convicted of a money laundering offense or an immigration fraud offense, that deprives the individual of certain protections that that person might otherwise have,” Cheng said in the report.

Cheng is a member of the Firm’s White Collar Defense and Corporate Investigations Practice and resides in the Firm’s Los Angeles and Hong Kong offices.  Before rejoining O’Melveny in June 2015, Cheng spent 20 years as a federal prosecutor, serving in a number of roles at the Department of Justice.
