O’Melveny’s Chopra Quoted in Daily Journal on Litigation Trends in Light of Title IX Investigations

August 24, 2015 O’Melveny & Myers partner Apalla Chopra was quoted in the August 24, 2015, Daily Journal article, “Title IX Investigations Have Not Sparked Private Litigation.”  Chopra told the Daily Journal that she has seen more university investigations since the Obama administration's 2011 "Dear Colleague" letter was issued to educational institutions, reminding them of their Title IX obligations.  That article also talked about the increase in "the threat of litigation" resulting from such investigations, including demand letters by sexual assault victims that result in pre-litigation settlements.

Chopra is chair of O’Melveny’s Labor and Employment Practice and resides in the Firm’s Los Angeles office.
