O’Melveny’s Deaton, Maddigan and Sullivan Author Law360 Article on Understanding The Affordable Care Act

October 31, 2013

O’Melveny & Myers partners David Deaton and Michael Maddigan and counsel Stephen Sullivan co-authored an October 30, 2013, Law360 article, titled "Critical Questions to Consider About the ACA.”  The piece focuses on providing a clear explanation of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) to attorneys who do not regularly practice in the health care area.  The authors review the main insurance reforms contained in the ACA and explain important concepts such as the individual mandate, employer mandate, and health insurance exchanges.  They also address key issues in the current debate on the Affordable Care Act, including affordability, employer coverage, and the effectiveness of the new health insurance exchanges.

Deaton and Maddigan are co-chairs of O’Melveny’s Health Care and Life Sciences Practice, and reside in the Firm’s Los Angeles office. Sullivan also is a member of the practice in Los Angeles.
