O’Melveny’s Drummond Hansen Quoted in Multiple Outlets on New Self-Driving Cars Guidelines

September 22, 2017

In a September 20, 2017, CNN article that was picked up by multiple outlets, O’Melveny partner Melody Drummond Hansen helped break down how consumer privacy fits into the latest self-driving cars guidelines.

The guidelines don’t address consumer privacy concerns, only those of businesses, saying that companies should make sure not to include confidential business information while detailing their programs to the public.

“It’s a head-scratcher; why they chose to delete (consumer) privacy,” Drummond Hansen said in the article.

Drummond Hansen is an experienced litigator specializing in intellectual property and technology who has tried cases in federal and state courts, the US International Trade Commission, and the US Patent & Trademark Office.
