O’Melveny’s Involvement in Michael Jackson Trial Noted in Los Angeles Wave, Law360

April 25, 2012

Recent reports in the Los Angeles Wave and Law360 gave an update to the negligence suit filed against AEG Live following Michael Jackson’s death. The April 24, 2012, “Judge Orders Michael Jackson's Mother to Answer More Questions in Lawsuit Against AEG,” in the Los Angeles Wave details how the judge is requiring Katherine Jackson and Michael Jackson’s three children to answer more questions about the hiring of Dr. Conrad Murray.

In the article, O’Melveny & Myers’ Marvin Putnam marked a victory for AEG because the judged agreed with everything the defense asked for, stopping short of issuing monetary sanctions. The April 24, 2012, Law360 story, “Jackson's Mom Ordered To Hand Over Docs In AEG Fight,” said that the judge also ordered Michael Jackson’s mother to produce documents and other discovery responses associated with her lawsuit.

The defendants are represented by Putnam, Jessica L. Stebbins, and Kathryn Cahan of O'Melveny & Myers.

The case is Jackson v. AEG Live LLC, case number BC445597, in the Superior Court of the State of California, County of Los Angeles.
