O’Melveny’s IP & Technology Practice Featured Among Law360’s IP Groups of the Year

January 10, 2014 O’Melveny & Myers’ Intellectual Property and Technology Practice was recognized as a Law360 IP Group of the Year in a January 9, 2014 feature.  The profile provides an overview of the Practice’s successes in 2013, including securing the rights to Superman for DC Comics Inc. and to the "Winnie-the-Pooh" franchise for Disney Enterprises Inc. in two high-profile cases.  The article quotes partner Darin Snyder regarding the significance of the rights to these iconic characters.  "Superman and Winnie-the-Pooh are not a movie or a book; they are both an enormous collection of consumer services and products," he told Law360, calling the characters "mini-industries" unto themselves.  In the article, Snyder also discusses O’Melveny’s recent technology sector victories and plans for the future growth of the practice.  "The size of group has expanded somewhat, and we do have expansion plans where we see opportunities to further represent our clients," he said.

Snyder is chair of O’Melveny’s Intellectual Property and Technology practice.  He resides in the Firm’s San Francisco office.
