O’Melveny’s Kim Quoted in Daily Journal on South Korea’s New Foreign Firm Rules

December 26, 2014 O’Melveny & Myers partner Joseph Kim is quoted in a December 26, 2014, Daily Journal article, titled “Lawyers Cautious as South Korea Gears Up To Release New US Firm Rules.”  The piece discusses the impending roll out of South Korea’s final set of rules for foreign law firms, which will ultimately allow them to practice Korean law.

"Right now, Phase III is structured in such a way that on March 15, 2017, US firms will be allowed to practice Korean law under certain circumstances, but a lot of firms are waiting to see what that will look like before they make any plans," Kim told the publication.

As the article notes, Kim is the head of O'Melveny's Korea Practice.  He divides his time between the Firm’s offices in Seoul and Los Angeles.
