The December 2, 2015, Daily Journal article, “Bar President Pushes for Legal Services Funding Increase,” quotes O’Melveny & Myer’s David Lash on California State Bar President David Pasternak’s campaign to increase annual funding for legal services in California to US$50 million. Lash, managing counsel for pro bono and public interest services at O'Melveny, said Pasternak and others can effectively make the case that legal services funding is a wise investment because of the ways the dollars can be leveraged. Legal aid organizations use the funds to help facilitate thousands of private lawyers volunteering their time to assist poor Californians, Lash said in the article.
