O’Melveny’s Maeda, Iitani Co-Author Article on Compensation Claim Against the Japanese Government Regarding Consumer Finance

June 04, 2012 O’Melveny & Myers LLP partner Yoji Maeda and associate Takeshi Iitani co-authored the article “No Remedy for Financial Companies Who Trusted Illegal Ministry Orders?” for CREDIT AGE, a leading Japanese consumer finance publication issued by the Japan Consumer Finance Association). The article provides criticism to a district court judgment which denied any remedy to a lender who trusted ministry orders (which was subsequently found illegal) and suffered damages.
