O’Melveny’s New York Office Hosts Successful Secondaries EventDecember 10, 2012
O’Melveny & Myers LLP’s New York office hosted a New York Secondaries Private Equity Network (NSYPEN) event on December 6, 2012.
The event covered secondary “directs,” or the sale of portfolios of direct investments in operating companies. The panel was moderated by Sameer Shamsi, a Director on UBS Investment Bank's Secondary Advisory Team and the Chair of NYSPEN. Speakers included:
Yann Robard: Senior Principal, Canada Pension Plan Investment Board;
Scott Conners: Partner, Landmark Partners Inc.;
Matthew Shafer: Partner, Vision Capital; and
Michael Hacker: Principal, AlpInvest.
With over 45 attendees from firms such as Atlantic-Pacific Capital, Cogent Partners, Credit Suisse, Deutsche Bank, Lexington Partners L.P., Park Hill Group LLC, Partners Group, PEI Funds, Pomona Capital, Secondcap America LLC, StepStone Group, Vision Capital, Westminster Capital, and more, the event was a success.
NYSPEN is the networking and educational association for professionals in the private equity and venture capital secondaries market in the greater New York City region. The aim of NYSPEN is to bring dealmakers, intermediaries, and other secondaries market participants together and help them achieve their business and professional goals through a variety of networking and educational events.
