O’Melveny’s Representation of Riggio in Planned Proposal to Purchase Barnes & Noble’s Retail Business Receives Media Coverage

O’Melveny & Myers LLP’s representation of Mr. Leonard Riggio, founding chairman and largest stockholder of Barnes & Noble, Inc., the leading retailer of content, digital media, and educational products, in his planned proposal to purchase all of the assets of the retail business of Barnes & Noble, Inc. was noted in the AmLaw Daily and Law360. The retail business would include, among other things, Barnes & Noble Booksellers, Inc. and barnesandnoble.com. The retail business would not include NOOK Media LLC (comprising the College and digital businesses). The Company has appointed a Strategic Committee of three independent directors to review and evaluate the proposal. Mr. Riggio is represented by New York partner Paul Scrivano, who is leading the O’Melveny team on the proposed transaction.
