The Los Angeles Times’ March 6, 2012, story, “Brandon Rios Shows for L.A. News Conference, Gamboa Doesn't,” details an ongoing dispute between boxers Brandon Rios and Yuriorkis Gamboa about a planned World Championship Boxing match on April 14 in Las Vegas. O’Melveny & Myers’ Daniel Petrocelli and David Marroso are representing Top Rank, the promotional company putting on the event, in the dispute, according to USA Today’s “Gamboa a No-Show Again; Top Rank Offers $100,000 to Winner.” Petrocelli and Marroso are negotiating with Gamboa’s lawyers after the boxer failed to show up at promotional events and is rumored to want out of his contract with Top Rank, according to the articles. The Los Angeles Times’ article included comments from the Los Angeles press conference, where one person in attendance said,  “I’d rather fight Brandon Rios than Daniel Petrocelli.”
