O’Melveny’s Rosenberg Honored as Am Law Litigation Daily's Litigator of the Week

February 10, 2012

O'Melveny & Myers partner Jonathan Rosenberg recently was honored as Am Law Litigation Daily’s Litigator of the Week for his work on behalf of client Bank of America in the nationwide federal mortgage-backed securities litigation against Countrywide. Rosenberg and his team have secured critical rulings from Judge Mariana Pfaelzer of the United States District Court for Central District of California, who dismissed with prejudice Allstate's successor liability and fraudulent conveyance claims against the bank arising out of its July 2008 acquisition of Countrywide. The Web-based news outlet described the victory, which resolved both the successor and fraudulent conveyance claims and absolved Bank of America from all liability in the Allstate case, as “far reaching.”

“Winning on both the successor liability and fraudulent conveyance claims was a crucial test for Jonathan Rosenberg of O'Melveny & Myers, BofA's national coordinating counsel on successor liability,” the February 9, 2012, story reported. Rosenberg, who argued the dismissal motion at a January 23 hearing before Judge Pfaelzer, said in statement on the ruling, "The court's thorough and thoughtful analysis of these and similar allegations in many different complaints speaks for itself.”

Rosenberg is a member of O’Melveny’s Securities Litigation Practice and White Collar Defense and Corporate Investigations Practice and is resident in the Firm’s New York office.
