O’Melveny’s Simmons Moderates Panel Discussion on Trying Cartel Cases

March 19, 2014

O’Melveny & Myers partner Ian Simmons recently moderated a roundtable focused on trying cartel cases. An April 2, 2014, Policy and Regulatory Report article noted Simmons’ roundtable discussion, and the transcript of the discussion was published in the American Bar Association’s Spring 2014 issue of Antitrust. The panelists emphasized the value of doing research with potential jury pools, observing that certain themes originally thought to be powerful did not always resonate with the mock jurors as anticipated. Simmons and several panelists also noted the importance of witness selection when making clients sympathetic to a lay jury.

Simmons is a member of O’Melveny’s Antitrust and Competition Practice, and resides in the Firm’s Washington, DC office.
