O’Melveny & Myers partner Linda Smith was quoted in the January 27, 2012, Los Angeles Times entertainment blog Company Town post “Golden Globes trial reveals art of negotiations.” In a update on the third trial day between Hollywood Foreign Press Association’s (HFPA) dispute with Dick Clark Productions (DCP) over broadcast rights to the Golden Globes, Smith, counsel to HFPA, is mentioned for her tactical questioning of DCP Chief Executive Mark Shapiro. “’You repeatedly told them you needed HFPA approval,’ Smith asked Shapiro of his negotiations with NBC in the fall of 2010.”
