O’Melveny’s Support of ABA’s Innocence Project Featured In ABA Journal

June 06, 2012

O’Melveny’s ongoing support of the ABA’s innocence project is highlighted in the July issue of the ABA Journal in the article “Attorneys For the Damned: ABA Project Marks 25 Years of Providing Counsel to Death Row Inmates.” Managing Counsel for the Firm’s public interest and pro bono services, David Lash, told the publication that O’Melveny has taken five cases through the project over the past five years. According to Lash, attorneys have a variety of motivations for participating in the project. He added, “it might be a desire to remedy an injustice, professional development opportunities, a philosophical opposition to the death penalty—or a little bit of all three.”
