O’Melveny’s Sussman Quoted in Private Equity Manager Regarding New Study on RMB Funds

January 10, 2012

O’Melveny & Myers LLP partner Larry Sussman is quoted in the January 10, 2012, Private Equity Manager article “Study: RMB Funds ‘Less Flexible’” regarding a new study from the China Venture Capital and Private Equity Association (CVCA). Sussman worked in partnership with the CVCA in studying RMB and USD-denominated funds that closed between 2007 to 2011. According to the study, RMB-denominated funds are “less flexible and diversified” in certain areas than those of USD funds. According to Sussman, “local rules and regulations, as well as China's relatively nascent private equity industry, largely account for the differences.”  Sussman, a member of the Firm's China Practice, Investment Funds Practice, and Tax Practice, is the managing partner of O’Melveny’s Beijing office.
