O’Melveny’s Traeger Quoted in Bloomberg Businessweek on New Financial Disclosures

October 26, 2011

The October 26, 2011, Bloomberg Businessweek article “Hedge Funds Face Double Exposure,” talks about two potential financial regulatory rules that hedge funds and private equity funds could have to follow when reporting confidential financial information. One set of disclosures is required by the Dodd-Frank financial regulatory law and the other is being considered by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission. O’Melveny & Myers' Washington, DC, partner Heather Traeger was quoted in the article addressing the concerns of some funds that their confidential information could be distributed.  “There have been instances for government agencies in which information has made its way outside approved purposes by one way or another,” said Traeger in the article. “If it does happen, the information could be misused or misinterpreted.”
