O’Melveny’s Virjee Quoted in Daily Journal on Alternative Fee ArrangementsJuly 18, 2012
The Daily Journal’s July 16, 2012, article “Billable Hours Still Strong at Law Firms” reports that only a small percentage of law firms use alternative free arrangements for the majority of their work.
The article quotes O’ Melveny & Myers LLP partner Framrose Virjee, who coordinates and provides structural approval for all alternative fee arrangements at the Firm: “One of the reasons AFA’s became the soup du jour is that everybody was looking at value as a result of the Great Recession. The reason we’re not seeing the big explosion…is because people have just mastered the ideas of rudimentary alternative fee management. I think what you’re going to see is a slow and steady increase in [AFA] activity.”
Virjee resides in the Firm’s Los Angeles office and is a member of the Labor & Employment Practice.
