O’Melveny’s Wallace Quoted in Dow Jones on Private Equity Interest in Chinese Companies

May 23, 2012

The May 22, 2012, Dow Jones article, “FOCUS: Chinese Private Equity Deal Flow To Ramp Up In Second Half,” examines how many Chinese companies are now exploring mergers and acquisitions instead of solely initial public offerings as an exit strategy. O’Melveny & Myers’ Walker Wallace said in the article there is “less crazy money being thrown around” for Chinese company IPOs and those with a “solid business but no IPO story” are gaining attention in the still new merger and acquisition market and from international investors. “Dollar-investors usually insist on an offshore structure, so for a company doing anything beyond China, this is a huge strategic advantage,” Wallace said in the article.
