O’Melveny’s Yost Discusses Green Chemistry Regulations in Daily Journal

December 28, 2011

The December 28, 2011, Daily Journal article, “State Proposes New Green Chem. Regulations,” includes comments from O’Melveny & Myers partner Geoff Yost on proposed green chemistry rules in California. Yost says in the article that some companies could legally challenge the new regulations because of their “broadness and ambition.” The challenges could include a look at the federal law AB 1879, which paved the way for green chemistry, Yost said in the article.  Even though the Department of Toxic Substances Control is expected to target three to five priority products a year, Yost expects some pushback from manufacturers who are concerned about costly implementation of the new regulations, according to the article.
