The Journal News: Playland—Standard Sues Westchester, Asks Court to Preserve its Deal to Run Amusement Park

O’Melveny is representing Standard Amusements (SA), which is suing Westchester County in bankruptcy court over the county’s attempt to dissolve its 30-year contract with the company.

In an adversary proceeding complaint, partner John Rapisardi accused County Executive George Latimer of attempting to break the contract at all costs. “It was clear from Mr. Latimer’s public statements, and his conduct, that he had no interest in preserving the Agreement or even talking to SA,” Rapisardi wrote in the filing. “He had one goal: terminate the Agreement by any means necessary.”
