Public Counsel Notes O’Melveny’s Participation in National Pro Bono Week

April 14, 2014 In a April 11, 2014, e-newsletter, Public Counsel noted O’Melveny & Myers attorneys’ participation in the pro bono firm’s “Pro Bono Pitch” campaign.  The initiative was launched in celebration of National Pro Bono Week in October 2013 in order to encourage attorneys to take on a pro bono matter before the close of the year.  As the report describes, O'Melveny lawyers joined a Homeless Court session to help people with a history of homelessness clear tickets and warrants for minor offenses, enabling them to move ahead with a clean slate.

“[O]ver 300 attorneys appeared on the Pro Bono Pitch Roster and volunteered to help hundreds of clients,” the organization noted.  “The attorneys who volunteer for Public Counsel are instrumental in changing our clients' futures for the better.  Without these dedicated volunteers, we could not reach over 32,000 clients per year.”
