May 16, 2016

O’Melveny’s Ron Cheng and Ted Kassinger co-authored the article, “FDI in the US Expected To Accelerate, Litigation and Regulatory Risks Remain – What GCs Should Know,” published May 16, 2016 as part of the Corporate Counsel Connect collection. In the piece, the authors outline five tips for general counsel to best prepare for the CFIUS clearance process. “If a Chinese suitor comes a-calling, the US target’s general counsel must be sensitive to regulatory and litigation risks and data security concerns that are particular to Chinese transactions, both during and after the acquisition,” the authors conclude.

Washington, DC partner Ted Kassinger counsels US and foreign clients engaged in transnational business transactions, with an emphasis on international trade and investment regulatory matters. Ron Cheng is a partner in the Hong Kong and Los Angeles, and handles both anti-corruption and data privacy matters.
