San Francisco Office Honored by City for Green Efforts

March 29, 2013

At a recent San Francisco City Board of Supervisors meeting, O'Melveny’s San Francisco Office was recognized for its efforts toward reducing emissions in the Bay Area. O’Melveny received an award from the City for placing third among all participating Bay Area companies in the annual Great Race for Clean Air.

The Great Race for Clean Air is a competition organized by the Bay Area Air Quality Management District between Bay Area employers to encourage employees to use commute alternatives such as transit, carpooling, vanpooling, walking and bicycling. Participation was measured by the number of “clean commute days” per participant, CO2 savings, and employee participation rate. The Great Race ran from September 1 through October 31, 2012.

During this period, employees in the San Francisco office saved 27,392.990 lbs of CO2 from being released into the environment by commuting to work.

Counsel Jennifer Taylor was present at the Board of Supervisors meeting to receive the award from Supervisors Mar and Avalos.
