O'Melveny's Advocacy on Behalf of US Airways in Labor Dispute Noted on TheStreet.com
August 15, 2011
Labor and Employment partner Robert Siegel is heading up a team from O’Melveny & Myers LLP representing US Airways in its suit against the US Airline Pilots Association (USAPA) challenging the union's safety campaign. TheStreet.com's August 15, 2011 article “US Airways/Union Hearing Set for August 19” quotes statements made by Siegel in court on August 15 on behalf of the airline. As reported in the article, US Airways sued the USAPA on July 29, contending that the safety campaign is an illegal job action that has harmed the airline and its passengers through an increasing number of flight delays, missed connections, and mishandled bags. "Justice delayed is justice denied," Siegel said, arguing for an immediate injunction to end the campaign.
