Simmons Explores Antitrust in Asia at ABA Antitrust Law Spring Meeting

O’Melveny partner Ian Simmons participated in a discussion about how Asian countries and other jurisdictions apply antitrust laws at the ABA Section of Antitrust Law Spring Meeting 2018, which was featured in a June 5, 2018, podcast on Legal Talk Network

The discussion explored enforcement of antitrust laws, implementation vs. innovation, and the Qualcomm case, as well as the importance for dedicated antitrust lawyers to physically visit foreign countries to better learn their laws, industries, and economies.

As chair of the firm’s Antitrust and Competition Practice, Ian Simmons has been lead counsel in more than 30 multi-district litigation (MDL) antitrust proceedings and has achieved precedent-setting results. In addition to his extensive experience with cartel cases, Simmons litigates matters involving intellectual property issues, including the competitive implications of standard essential patents and FRAND obligations.
